It undergoes an innovative tanning process that eliminates the need for chrome, heavy metals, and dangerous acids. This simplification reduces the use of chemicals and energy, as well as water by 40% and salt by 80%. The water used in the process is also recyclable. The upper and panels are made from ChromeFree leather and suede, while the logo V and insole are made from sustainable materials such as Amazonian rubber (11%), biobased E.V.A.* (42% sugar cane), recycled E.V.A.* (11%), organic cotton (12%), and other eco-friendly materials (14%). The outsole is composed of Amazonian rubber (40%), silica mineral (23%), recycled rubber (10%), synthetic rubber (11%), and other sustainable materials (16%), while the welt is made from synthetic rubber (40%), silica mineral (22%), and other sustainable materials.
